Speaker Spotlight: Holly {504 Main}

California girl, author, fashion designer, DIYer, crafter, wedding expert, mocha lover, and "Mama." Holly likes to {make a mess and} let the creative juices flow...and with any luck it all works out. She grew up in a family with a “do-it-yourself” philosophy, so naturally she has made designing, crafting, and DIYing an integral part of her life. From glitter to plate joining biscuits to a jig saw – she loves it all and embrace using materials in new and sometimes unusual ways to create a style that is clever, unique, and totally fun!

In a life a long, long time ago, Holly was a fashion designer. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles (long before Lauren Conrad was a "student" there). She did her time in the trenches and worked as everything from a Design Assistant to a Patternmaker to a Textile/Print Designer to Designer. Loved it...Hated it...Was harassed by bosses...made some great friends...and learned invaluable life lessons.

All of her girlfriends started getting married and the wedding bug totally bit her...so she went on to conquer the wedding biz! She planned over 150 weddings with budgets ranging from $10,000 to $200,000. She was the Co-Director of the Association of Bridal Consultants, Greater Los Angeles for 2 years.

Go check out more on her about page.
She throws a super fun link up party every Friday, Tickled Pink.
I'm freaking out over this post...Holly just got back from a trip to NYC to meet Sandra Lee!

Sponsor Spotlight: Miss Mommy, Madison Design Studio & Expressions Vinyl

Raise your hand if you want to get to know some more of our fabulous sponsors!
We were just tickled pink when Nicole from Miss Mommy contacted us about donating an item to all the swag bags.  She is so seriously talented and her blog is a daily read for both of us.  Do you want to see a sample of what might be in your swag bag?  Head over here and check out her beautiful wrap bracelets!

How do you like our blog design?!  Pretty awesome right?!  We owe it all to Allison from Madison Design Studio.  She has been so great to work with and has gone above and beyond to make us look good.  You have seen her work all over our blog and facebook page, but you have also seen her work on packaging for both Boost and Amp'd Mobile.  She is a truly talented artist who specializes in invitation and party design as well as hand sketched illustrations.  Feel free to contact her for your blog design and business materials too!  This girl does it all!
We owe a great big thank you to Jason and the whole Expressions Vinyl team for their support.  They have donated all the vinyl for the stencils we are using for our craft at Elevate.  They have been so generous and were eager to be a part of this event.  Vinyl is such a useful medium in the craft world and if you can dream it, they can help you create it.  Need some inspiration?  Check out their blog for tons of tutorials on how to use the Silhouette and Cricket software, machines and all that comes along with them.  We can't wait to get crafting with our Expressions Vinyl materials at the conference.

Speaker Spotlight-Trina Harris Photography

Trina Harris is mother of one extremely active and adorable 2 year old boy. She is wife to her best friend. She is a photographer by trade and by passion.

The thing that she loves about photography is there is always something to learn, always something to challenge you with. She has been stepping into different worlds of photography (food and fitness in particular) and it has been amazing! She just finished taking the pictures for this new cookbook!
There are a few things that most inspire her when it comes to photography. One, are the things and places that surround her. Just driving around she loves to imagine how or who she could photograph at this place or that. She's drawn to things more raw and unkempt. Another are shadows and ways to create shadow. To Trina, there is nothing more fabulous than the dramatic effect of light and dark. The third thing that most inspires her are the people she photographs. Whether it's her son or various clients, she loves the challenge of bringing their personalities to print. Getting to know people and interacting with them in a very personal way makes her want to do more of what she does.
We are so excited to have her!

 Ashley Hackshaw
Editor/Designer/DIYer

Ashley Hackshaw is the editor, designer and DIYer behind the wildly popular Lil Blue Boo, which gets over 1 million page views each month. After spending 6 years in Investment Banking and getting an MBA in between, Ashley decided to pursue her passion in the creative world. Now she runs the successful Lil Blue Boo clothing line, sewing pattern line, and lifestyle/DIY website. Ashley is a motivational speaker on topics ranging from small business to blogging. Ashley also writes daily for Babble.com’s The New Home Ec on a variety of DIY projects.

Ashley recently has had some crazy curveballs thrown her way that have made her consciously decide to “choose joy” as a way of life. She has chosen to write publicly and with humor about her loss, and the nitty gritty of unexpected surgery and chemotherapy in hopes that her experiences will help others.
Ashley resides in Palm Desert, CA with her husband Brett and 5-year-old daughter “Boo.”
